Crafted in Cornwall

Every Pumphrey & Weston sauna is built by hand in our Cornwall workshop using carefully selected natural materials and traditional construction techniques. We believe a sauna should feel as though it belongs in its surroundings, whether overlooking a wild Cornish valley, tucked into a garden, or forming part of a larger wellness retreat.

Built to order, each sauna can be tailored to suit your site, lifestyle and vision.

Materials That Stand the Test of Time

The materials used in a sauna have a huge impact on both performance and longevity. That's why we use durable, naturally beautiful timbers and premium components throughout.

Typical specifications include:

  • Western Red Cedar interior cladding and benches

  • Thermally modified timber options

  • Charred spruce or black corrugated steel exteriors

  • High-performance insulation

  • EPDM roofing systems

  • Toughened and tinted glazing

  • Stainless steel fixings

  • Handmade joinery and bespoke details

The result is a sauna that not only performs exceptionally well but is designed to age gracefully for decades.

Traditional Heat. Modern Comfort.

Choose between a traditional wood-fired sauna experience or the convenience of a modern electric heater.

Wood Fired
Enjoy the crackle of a real fire, gentle radiant heat and an authentic sauna experience. Ideal for off-grid locations and those seeking a more traditional approach.

or… Electric
Fast heat-up times, simple controls and optional WiFi operation make electric heaters perfect for everyday use and holiday accommodation.

Designed Around the Experience

A great sauna is about more than temperature. It is about slowing down, reconnecting with nature and creating space to switch off.

Large picture windows, panoramic glazing and carefully positioned seating are designed to frame the landscape beyond, creating a calm and immersive experience throughout the seasons.

Built for the British Climate

Unlike many imported kit saunas, our saunas are designed specifically for the UK's wet, windy and often unpredictable conditions.

Each sauna is heavily insulated, carefully ventilated and constructed using robust materials that are chosen for their durability and resistance to the elements. Inspired by traditional Scandinavian sauna culture but built for British gardens and landscapes.

Built by Craftspeople

Every Pumphrey & Weston sauna is designed and built by our small team in Cornwall. Bringing together a diverse range of skills, our workshop includes engineers, boat builders, fine furniture makers and experienced craftspeople, all working together to create buildings that are beautiful, durable and built to last.

This combination of disciplines influences every stage of the build. From the strength and precision of the structure, to the handcrafted joinery, bespoke furniture and carefully considered details, each sauna benefits from decades of practical experience.

Rather than assembling imported kits, we build our saunas from the ground up using premium materials, traditional craftsmanship and modern construction techniques.

The result is a sauna that not only performs exceptionally well, but feels solid, thoughtful and timeless in its design.
